Thanksgiving in New York 2008

We had a great weekend in New York. We went up early Wednesday morning (about 4:30 a.m.) and made it to New York by 8:00 a.m. Here are a few pictures of our holiday.

Viv's Big Bash

Tonight we celebrated Vivian's 2nd birthday and Mom's "eh-hem" birthday. She adored her doll from G and G Stewart and I loved seeing her twirl in her tu-tu. The horse was a favorite for Vivian and her big brother with some birthday envy. Thanks for the gifts everyone!

My favorite wall in our house

A few weeks ago we saw the Guarneri in Baltimore. It is their last season before retirement. They kindly signed my program and I was so pleased to see Peter again (whom I studied with while I was pregnant with Sam at S.U.N.Y. Purchase). He was especially kind to me. I put this new picture up on our collage wall last week.

I love our photo collage wall. I love the significance of each piece and why they are meaningful to me. The rose colored older woman is my Great Grandma Vivian Redd McConkie - whom we named Vivian after. The little watercolor of a cello scroll is something Mom did for me before we left for New York. It only took her about 20 minutes to sit down and produce. I am so glad I insisted! If you look closely you can see a barn in the upper left hand corner. This is a barn B and I passed as we drove out of Logan in our Utah State days. It is a great reminder of those happy years where we met. Everything on this wall holds special significance to me. I added some pictures recently and I have found myself staring at this wall a lot. I thought I'd share.

Gig with Craig Jessop

Had a great weekend with two girlfriends in a gig with Craig Jessop in Virginia. Playing the Wilberg Requiem and other Mormon Tab music made me really miss Salt Lake and playing for the Orchestra at Temple Square. It was even better to do it with my two best girlfriends.
