Darth Vader Returns!

This mask arrived in the mail this afternoon and has provided endless fun for our little Darth. Yes, he has moved past the good-guy Jedi phase and on to the dark side. To make it more realistic, he breathes heavily into his mask. Oh so authentic.

Ice Storm

This morning school was canceled due to an ice storm. I have only ever heard of this, but never seen it. Here are a few pictures of what it looked like outside this morning.

P.S. I am loving my new camera.

What's in Your Bag Tag

This is my REI backpack/purse/diaper bag. I love it b/c secretly (well openly I guess) I like to think I am an athlete sporting my REI gear. I like that this is small, holds just the essentials and is a backpack. Here are the contents:

1. A few left over cheerios from church
2. Lipstick choices
3. Hand sanitizer and sanitizing wipes
4. My RED wallet that I love and bought at Grand Central with my Dad
5. Gum
6. Bink
7. Extra key and extra bobby pins
8. Several candy wrappers
9. Several business cards for my pediatrician whom I love

I tag Lindsey, Michelle, Trisha, Natalie

Vivians Two Joys in Life - Eating and Showering

Tonight after Vivian had dinner, I wanted to put her in the shower. She was gnawing on an apple and nearly died when I tried to take it away. Big tantrum! So, I let her combine her two favorite activities. Why not eat in the shower?

Super Tuesday!!!!

I have been addicted to politics this primary season. We watch CNN all the time and just listen to the same stories again and again.

Saturday morning Sam, Vivian and I went out campaigning for Barack. We canvased the neighborhood and informed people of where their precinct was and how to get there. Sam's job was to ring the doorbell (which he did a few too many times) and greet people with, "I support Barack Obama!" Because I did this with my kids, people actually opened the door and I was accepted with far less skepticism than I ever was as a missionary.

This video was made by and independent source after his acceptance speech in New Hampshire. It is really cool. This man is inspiring and motivates me to take my kids out on a cold Saturday morning to campaign for what I really hope is real change! Watch it and tell me what you think.

Sam's Debut

So here we are after a week of practice. Sam can sing all of his open strings and match the pitch and I am not really sure what he is doing with his Spiderman improv, but it is cute. He can't wait to show you this Granddad.

Shout Out to our Grandparents

Went to the park this morning. Regular day. A little chilly. Just thought we'd send a "shout out" to our family in the West.

Christmas in New York 2007

We had a wonderful Christmas as a little foursome in New York. We decided not to fly home, but to see the city we love. We booked 2 nights in a hotel room and did everything we loved in the city. We took a carriage ride in the park, shopped, ate hot dogs, went to Christmas Eve mass in Saint Patricks, bravely attempted buying a Light Saber in Times Squares very very busy Toys R Us and thoroughly wore out our kids.

We woke up Christmas morning and had a small Christmas in the hotel and then saw the Radio City Rocketts Christmas Spectacular. (Which was really spectacular!) As we drove away that afternoon Sam had a tantrum telling us he did not want to go back to Maryland, that he was "mad at Maryland" and wanted to live in New York. Needless to say he was exhausted and fell asleep about 20 seconds later. Peace and quiet for our drive home.

Christmas in New York 2007

Here is video of lunch in Grand Central. The boys decided to have a quick shoe shine. The last few seconds are how Vivian spent much of the trip. She was very good despite having to see New York in a stroller the whole time, much of which she viewed through plastic in her stroller cover.

Here are some more pictures of the trip. The first is a view from the car as we were leaving NY on the New Jersey Turnpike.

Sam saw Elmo in Times Square and was REALLY excited. I did not ask him to say cheese, he was just happy to have his picture taken.

Nice picture of our hotel lobby with green vines along the ceiling. Located right by 58th Street and Columbus Circle.

This is a million dollars in pennies! Pretty cool. It was outside the plaza in Rockefeller Center.

Hail to the Redskins

Sam learned this song at preschool this year. When I recorded him and told him I was going to put in on the blog he said, "Great Mom! That will be so cute."
